End of the Season

Our 2016 Season has ended, but we are so proud of everything that happened this year at the Museum. Although our building is closed, we continue to do projects all season long behind the scenes to get ready for a new year. Follow this Blog for updates. If you have a need for research, please email us and we will do our best to help you; mahnomenhistory@gmail.com

Here is a little recap of this year:

We have 330 members.

Over 700 guests signed in at the museum this summer.

We had 25-30 hosts and hostesses volunteer their time to sit at the museum.

We had 2 Cemetery Walks.

We raised over $2500 for the Quilt Donation Drawing. Kathy Janisch was the winner.

We held the Barn Dance in July and held Memory Lane at the fair

We partnered with the public library to bring in a speaker.

We had students visit from Mahnomen, Waubun, St. Michaels, and Charter

We completed a Legacy grant to put newspapers on microfilm.

We continue to do 4 newsletters per year and are always looking for interesting features.

We will lose both our staff members for next season. Louella is retiring and Emily has moved to Moorhead to go back to school.

This beautiful quilt was donated by Barb Scherping. Thank you so much for your generous donation! The winner of the quilt was Kathy Janisch of Mahnomen.
